Sermon Redux is an opportunity to dig a bit deeper into the topics and themes from a previous sermon.

This week, we're unpacking "God Honors Faithfulness" by talking more about:

- How is honesty an example of faithfulness?

- What is a Kinsman Redeemer?

- Was Ruth infertile?

Ruth enters the story and because of her faithfulness, God honors her through a son, Obed, who will be the grandfather of a boy named David.

God told Abraham that he would be the father of many nations; the fulfillment of this promise began with the birth of Isaac and continued through Jesus.

God's will for his people is that they would be thankful in all circumstances.

Christians have a mission and a purpose: the proclamation of the gospel. This dedication to Christ will often come at great cost and we must be prepared to pay it. 

Faithful servants of Christ seek to please God because they know that He alone is their judge.

Discipling others is more than teaching them what the Bible says, it’s also about you. If you are not growing in your own faith and building your foundation on Christ, you will not be able to make disciples of others. 

1 Corinthians 3:10-23 reminds us that all believers are a part of something special and that our significance comes from God and is demonstrated by us when we access HIS strength and build on the foundation of Christ with "gold, silver, and jewels."

What did Paul mean in 1 Corinthians 3:6? How do we plant the seed of the gospel in the hearts of others? How do we water it?

Paul confronts the immature believers in Corinth over their worldly behavior and reminds them that the church belongs to God.
