We are dependent on Christ to open our eyes to see reality. 

When Paul arrived in Corinth he shared with them the Gospel, or Good News, of Jesus Christ. He didn't do this with eloquence or wisdom; he simply told them that Jesus Christ died for their sins and because of this, they could have a new life, freed from the penalty of those sins. This is the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  

God uses what the world considers foolish to reveal his purpose: salvation through Jesus Christ. 

Our unity is through the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

 Paul tells the Corinthians that God's gracious gifts were given to them for a reason: that they would partner with Jesus. 

 Paul begins his first letter to the church at Corinth with the reminder that they are holy because of Christ alone.

Each week, dozens of people use their gifts for the good of the WestWay body, demonstrating love and humility as they serve and gather in groups. God is using their serving and gathering to transform them and those around them.

The crown of victory is given at the end of the race to those who've run faithfully, to those who finish well. What does this mean for Christians?

When an athlete runs in a competition, they demonstrate endurance by running a route that has been set out for them by someone else. As Christians, God has set before us the task of becoming and making disciples. This requires endurance. 

Making disciples is a lifetime commitment, and we need to start strong. For this to happen, we need to understand what running the race looks like and we need to develop the discipline needed to succeed.
